The brief · what we did · outcome
A habit tracker is easy to start and hard to keep, and most of them lose people in the same week: the entry takes too many taps, the history is a wall of ticks nobody reads, and a missed day feels like a reason to stop. We wanted one that survived the fortnight.
Built as a single React Native codebase on Expo, with Firebase for accounts and sync and an offline-first store so a day logged on a train is not a day lost. Habits run on flexible schedules rather than a rigid daily streak; completion is charted per habit and across a thirty-day calendar. Sign-in, in-app purchases, ad placement, notifications, biometric lock and PDF export are wired through the same release, and crash reporting was in place before the first public build.
Live on Google Play and updated in place. Signing, staged rollout and crash reporting run from one pipeline, so a fix reaches users without a hand-built release — which is the part of shipping an app that is usually improvised and the part we hand to clients as a process rather than a favour.
